T-Mobile Order Tracking

While attempting to tack my SIM card order from T-Mobile I kept getting error message from UPS such as:

>>> The number you entered is not a valid tracking number (e.g. typical format is 1Z9999999999999999). Review the number provided or contact the sender to verify the number.

If you get the above message it means they are using a UPS service called "Mail Innovations".  The T-Mobile website indicates you can "Track by Reference" and use your phone number for the "Shipment Reference" but that did not succeed either.  The new error was:

>>>UPS could not locate the shipment details for your request. Verify your information and try again.

The solution on the UPS site is to use the "Track by Number" section and prefix the tracking number from the T-Mobile order status page.  My tracking number from the T-Mobile page is shown in the image below:


Take the long tracking number and prefix "92" to the front of it in the "Tracking or InfoNotice Numbers" section of the UPS tracking page.  Do not use "Track by Reference" so you should see similar to this:
